On Saturday, March 24, 2018 I will be attending the March for Our Lives in Sierra Vista, AZ. I am there to support Buena High School students who want to add their voices to the discussion of gun violence in our schools. This demonstration is a march on the sidewalk from the corner of Fry Blvd and Coronado along Fry to congress person Martha McSally's office at 77 Calle Portal. The students are asking for better safety in schools, increased access to mental health care for "at risk" youth and raising the age to purchase a gun in Arizona from 18 to 21.
I am in favor of these goals and urge those of you who are concerned about the increase in gun violence in schools to join this peaceful and respectful march.
Whatever your thoughts on gun control, we should support young people who want to participate in our democratic system.
